Ripped Paper Trees and Flowers
The focus for our art was to create either a flower or a tree by sketching first with our art pencil. Once we completed our sketch, we then used magazines to create a ripped paper collage effect. Mrs Hanson loves how all our tress and flowers are unique and so creative.

Field of Remembrance
During Week 1 of Term 2 we had a focus on ANZAC Day. We have been learning about the significance of ANZAC Day to all of us. On our school grounds a field of remembrance has been erected to honour 30 military personnel who have died serving our country in war. The field of remembrance is on display on the back corner of our top field and will be there for the next two weeks.

Soccer
Today Footballkidz NZ visited our school and taught as some simple soccer skills. It was a lot of fun!
Silhouettes
At the end of Term 1 we created some wonderful pieces of art. Mrs Hanson traced our silhouette while we stood in front of an old overhead projector. We then made our own shapes, within our faces, and then coloured these in using coloured pencils. At the end we went over the outline of both our face and each shape with a black vivid. We think they look great against the black paper!

Cricket
During Term 1 our topic focus was cricket. We focused on understanding some of the simple rules of cricket, how the game is played and what some of the different words and phrases mean.
At the end of the term we compared cricket and rugby. As a class we discussed the ways both sports are different, but we also looked at the similarities. We then completed our own compare and contrast map.
