Spot and Bo

Meet Spot and Bo from Room 17!

Every Friday Mrs Hanson decides on two special people to take home either Spot or Bo for the weekend. We are all very excited on Friday afternoon and sometimes we even guess who the special people might be! We have sometimes also noticed how hard someone has been working all week or whether they have been demonstrating our school values of Respect, Independence, Cooperation and Excellence.

As part of taking home Spot or Bo we also take home their diary and write an entry about what we have done over the weekend with Spot or Bo.  Some of us include photos or pictures we have drawn. On Monday morning we share the diaries with the class and have them available in our class all week to look at and read.

Our Wonderful Witches

During the last two weeks of the Term 3 Mrs Hanson read two stories to us about witches, 'The Witch with an Itch' By Helen Baugh and 'Badjelly the Witch' By Spike Milligan. We completed some different language and vocabulary activities about both these stories.  We finished off these activities by creating some amazing witches!

We sketched our witches, made a paper mache face and 3D nose and then decorated their dress using packaging from our lunch boxes. These were mostly chip packets and muesli bars wrappers that we had collected as part of our ZeroWaste unit. This packaging can't be recycled and would end up in landfills, so we recycled ours through our art.

We all think our witches look amazing! Here are some or our creations.
